Aroid Acclimation Substrate is a light, airy substrate mix designed specifically for acclimating tissue-cultured aroids after they leave sterile culture.
The mix combines fine coco coir, perlite and vermiculite to provide a good balance between moisture retention and oxygen around delicate young roots. This helps plantlets transition more gradually from the humid, controlled environment of tissue culture to normal growing conditions.
It is especially suitable for Monstera, Philodendron, Alocasia, Anthurium and other aroids.
Key features
- Airy structure with good drainage
- Retains moisture without becoming overly compact
- Suitable for delicate newly formed roots
- Designed for the acclimation stage after tissue culture
- Works well with humidity cups or propagation domes
How to use
Lightly moisten the substrate before use. Carefully plant the cleaned and rooted plantlet into the mix and place it under high humidity. Gradually increase ventilation during the acclimation period until the plant is adapted to ambient conditions.
